![]() So I think I figured out what is happening: I created one that will run every 6 hours -you'd need to adjust the setting on the site to get it according to your own schedule. You can use something like Crontab Generator to create your crontab entry. Enter a crontab line using a full path name to your bash file or program. Using the arrow keys on your keyboard, scroll down to the very last line in your crontab file.ģ. If you've never run it before, you will be asked which editor you wish to use - my preference is nano, but feel free to use whichever you prefer?Ģ. If you've got your launcher all prepared, then setting up cron shouldn't be too tough:ġ. There *can* be parameters - such as bashfile.sh -parameter, but that's it. I'm inclined to think I'm configuring it wrong. I'm not sure if it's the program that doesn't work or if it's me configuring it incorrectly. I found Zeit which I am able to open and create the task but the task is not actually running. I downloaded gnome-schedule 2.3.0 which is a tar.gz file and I tried for hours to get that to install but was unsuccessful. Ideally I would prefer a gui task scheduler, as I think that would be much easier but I can't find one that works. Most websites I found give instructions that are not geared towards a newbie so I'm confused more than anything. I've been trying to do this for the last two days and I'm not making any progress. I cant for the life of me figure out how to use crontab. I tried installing gnome-schedule as per the instructions but it does not work. I'm trying to setup an automatic task to run either hourly or daily to sync the folders. I'm using FreeFileSync to sync folders between my computers. So this is basically what I'm trying to do:
